THE BUSINESSHopsy is a startup with a big mission. They’re building a community of beer enthusiasts who order fresh draft beer directly from the best breweries to be delivered fresh at home. Neighbourhood by neighbourhood, they’re bypassing the outdated traditional process and making fresh local beer more accessible than ever before.
THE CHALLENGEAWS was a natural fit for the business, they were a startup with limited resource and big ideas. AWS offered them the ability to scale on demand and they were able to deploy rapidly. However, they soon realised that although they were first class coders they needed help leveraging the best of AWS, in time for the holiday rush!
THE SOLUTIONWe sat down with Hopsy to discuss their business and then set about performing a detailed health check of the AWS account. We identified several areas within the account that could save Hopsy money and at the same time improve performance. We started with migrating the main database to RDS and setup Cloudwatch across the account. Over the next few months we continually worked with Hopsy to identify performance improvements, we’re happy to report the holiday season was a success!
